Personality: Despite being raised in a powerful family, Laura never demands any special attention, nor does she put herself first above others. She often thinks of others before herself, risking her life to help anyone who needs her. She is straightforward and of a firm beliefs. Laura's personality traits are honesty, curiosity, innovation, amiability, inconsistency, disinclination, detachment, deviation tendencies and inefficiency. She has a peaceful nature and sometimes oblivious to simple things. She's friendly, a well relaxed person, modest and patient around people, making her very sociable. She's also incredibly smart (she's considered the brains of the team), feisty, determined and resourceful. Despite being like this, very deep down, she is strongly depressed, but tends to hide it with a smile. She is also shown to be very smart, but chose not to express it, as she wants to act herself and show her brilliance on paper or on the battlefield. During her time at Vale, she is shown to be very uncomfortable to be near male characters, she tried to show them she is someone not to take advantage. It all changed when she finally accepts them as equals. Prior to CIEL, she grew up isolated from the world and by the time she was out, she was abused and harassed, making her distant, emotional, and a emo phase with her fake smile.
Weapon of Choice: Maiden's Butterfly: A modified shield that's hooked up to a technological gauntlet. It's attached to a strong cable to send the shield flying at enemies as a Frisbee and pulling it back, retractable blades at the sides, two panels in front to shoot multiple rounds of bullets, targeting system, hidden compartments, and all abilities can be activated by using a button that's hooked from the thumb and press certain buttons that are hooked to her other fingers. When all buttons touches each other, the shield shifts itself and expands itself to resemble her family crest. Has the same abilities as before, but with sharper blades and edges, very powerful thrusters to have the shield fly, launch towards enemies, or give a quick and deadly punch. It has built-in flamethrower, shield becomes twice more lighter and flexible, and can spun itself to resembles to a saw. When she has her shield turn counterclockwise, the shield opens to resemble a butterfly with the tip of the lower shield extends into a long blade.
Aura: Seemingly the same to regular aura users.
Semblance: Psychological awareness and predictive capabilities, which allows her to read movements by seeing lavender-colored images of something incoming towards her, before it could be physically seen. Semblance is not totally useful if her body doesn't react in time or the person or object moves too fast and Semblance seems to give migraines for some odd reason. It also doesn't pick up incoming motion of objects

Her great grandfather founded a town known as, Calyx, after the Great War for refugees and been expanding since. Laura's father, and grandfather had been trying to form their own kingdom and the other kingdoms are against it. Laura had never truly bonded with most of family as her father is very stressed of recent occurrences and the death of her older brothers who became Hunters and killed by the Grimm. There's also been mentioning of a coup as the citizens are in a depression and many believes Laura and her family are tyrants. Despite this, Laura is very independent, but at the same time, very adventurous and has shown to be a prodigy like or possible more than, her brothers. Laura learns quickly and reads a lot. Due to being kept indoors most of the time, Laura studies for her entertainment.
Growing up, the closest thing she had to a mother, was Nala, a bodyguard and her caretaker. She was practically raised by Nala throughout her childhood. At some point, at the age of 5, she came across a Grimm when she sneaked out of her room to explore the nearby woods. Her caretaker and bodyguard, Nala, rescued her, followed by slapping her, and told her that if any harm befell her, she would not know what to do. As a way of making up with her, Nala showed her how to use Nala's utility shield, The Maiden's Butterfly, and told her that she'll train her hard to grow strong so that she could protect the kingdom. Laura regularly explore the grassy plains or the gardens with Nala showing her tricks with her shield and how she would do in battle.
On her 10th birthday, a young woman that was Laura's oldest brother, Layton's, girlfriend bestows a light blue bracelet. The bracelet seems to make Laura feel safe as despite never meeting, Layton wanted to personally give her the bracelet to show he cares. Weeks later, the rebellion finally decided to strike. Most of the high class citizens and even most of the royal family were caught in the fight and died. Laura knew too little at the time, so Nala hid Laura away from the mayhem, telling her to sleep alone in a tower, until morning.
Laura acknowledges and obeyed. As Laura's people spills their own blood and morale low, a wave of Grimm suddenly appeared and overpowered Laura's kingdom. A Beowolf made its way to the tower and attempted to attack Laura. Nala arrives just in time and slain the beast, but was to heavily damaged due to the combined attacks of people and monster. Nala gave Laura her shield to defend herself and escape through the path that Laura once sneaked to the forest, while Nala stays behind to slow them down and hopes to find the king still alive. Laura escapes to the forest and looks back to see her kingdom, engulfed in cloud, before disappearing in the woods, followed by echoes of screaming.
Laura survived in the forest for 3 days and 3 nights, before being discovered by Hunters, who were sent to explore the kingdom and find Laura as the sole survivor. They were astonished that Laura survived all alone in the forest, where the Grimm are commonly seen. The reason Laura survived, was from watching Nala use her shield and Laura would mimic Nala's fighting style and was able to defend herself from any Grimm that had located her.
Laura was then force to live in a all female orphanage/strict boarding school that trains students to become warriors and did not make any friends. Laura would normally sit close by the a window when the rain comes and watches the rain panes on the glass and when it's not raining, she sneaks out to play by the nearby woods with her only companions were butterflies. No one notices of her existence and when she's notice; its always very harsh. She has bullied, abused, and harassed constantly.
Laura grew up in a lonely and depressing life since. An incident one night, when one of the orphans was to be adopted, got kidnapped as ransom, but Laura tracked them down, and coldly kills the kidnapper. Days later, Perry Vinca adopted Laura and their relationship was very strained, but when the crew of the kidnapper takes Laura and nearly beaten her death after she attempted to run away and get back Maiden's Butterfly, Perry saves her and reveals himself to be a Hunter.
Laura became his student and taken him as a dad, to the point, she loves him as Nala. He helped enroll to Beacon after Haven declined her. At the city of Vale, she soon met her future teammates of CIEL, and finally experience true happiness. She was untrusting at first and had her hood up at all times, but eventually everyone warmed her up and became a different person . In fact, more like her former self.
